Special attachments / accessories
for side-dump loaders
For operation as all-purpose or special-purpose machines dhms side-dump loaders can be fitted with a range of attachments and auxiliary equipment:
- drill feeds
- cutter heads
- hydraulic breakers
- hydraulic winches
The attachments are available in various designs and performance categories and can either be permantly attached or fitted at the site with time saving special quick-change couplers.
Drill attachment
With the new hydraulic powered quick-change system dhms side-dump loaders can be quickly converted for use as drilling machines. Special multi-couplers for hose lines prevent any loss of hydraulic fluid and also stop dirt from entering the hydraulic system. The new quick-release couplers greatly reduce attachment change-over times. Using one chassis as a multifunction unit constitutes a cost-effective and flexible solution for carrying out various roadway drivage and roadway repair operations below ground, especially when space is at a premium. The side-dump loader dh L1200 with drilling attachment, for example, is designed specifically for driving short-length roadways but can also serve as a full heading machine for in-seam roads and stone drifts.

Cable backhaul device / cable reel
To protect the feed cable of the electro-hydraulic drive unit from branching off and from being run over, the machine can be equipped with a cable winch or cable reel of which various versions are available.
When using the cable backhaul device the cable is attached in a series of loops to trolleys or rollers that run along the roadway axis on a monorail or overhead rope. A compressed-air winch installed at the rear of the installation ensures that the cable loom is kept continuously under tension. When the machine is advancing the cable is pulled forwards against the tractive force of the winch, which also retracts the cable when the machine is moving backwards.
Ripper attachment / hydraulic breakers
Our hydraulic breakers can be used as quick-change attachments for roadway ripping, dinting work and for breaking up debris. These attachments are available in a wide range of weight categories with various breaking forces.
Winch attachments
An additional hydraulic winch driven in synch with the machine’s travel gear can be installed for operating in conditions of extreme gradient. A special hydraulic control system fitted to the travel- brake and winch-brake valves ensures smooth and steady machine response and combined with automatic speed limitation guarantees excellent handling of the machine.
