In their standard version dhms side-dump loaders are powered by electro-hydraulic drives. The various loader series provide ample drive powers. Electric motors are available in all operating voltages and frequencies.
The hydraulic drives are based on a power regulated system. The models dh L500/dh LQ500 (L 513 T), dh L800 (DH 250 TS), dh L1200 (K312LS) and G 210 LS have a hydraulic system based on the load sensing principle. As hydraulic fluids mineral oils or flame-resistant liquids can be used. For use under extreme climatic conditions the side-dump loaders can be equipped with air coolers or circulating water coolers. Temperature and level of the hydraulic system are monitored automatically. A system of filters protects the hydraulic fluid effectively against contamination.
A hydraulically released, multiple disc brake serves as safety brake. When the tramming valves are in their zero position the safety brake is closed.
The hydraulic brake control system, specifically developed by dhms, ensures:
- uniform an smooth tramming
- automatic speed limitation on inclines
- long service life of drives
- high operating security
All hydraulic cylinders are designed for work under tough conditions in mining. Their outstanding features are:
- robust construction
- wear-resistant piston rods
- internal lowering valves
The design includes the following features:
- good ground clearance
- suitable, specific soil pressure
- excellent manoeuvrability
- high resistance to wear and tear
The crawler tracks have bolted and bonded three-stud ground plates. The track is secured against running off its guide wheels when driven along slanted drifts.
Driver’s seat and control unit
The driver’s seat and control unit are designed ergonomically in accordance with standard DIN EN 894. The control functions can be carried out either by direct-acting or pilot hand-and-foot operated valves. The driver’s seat can be equipped with a protective roof.
With the exception of the loader dh L500/dh LQ500 (L 513) all dhms side-dump loaders are fitted with a slewable telescopic boom. This makes loading possible over a large working area without moving the side-dump loader. The telescopic feed creates a strong penetration force of the bucket and thus ensures good filling. “Loading from a single position” increases the service life of crawlers and keeps the crawler tracks from digging into soft ground.
Buckets of different types and sizes can be fitted to suit any particular application and type of rock. Special versions partly coated with highly wear-resistant materials are available for extremely hard and abrasive rock.
For multi-functional applications a wide range of accessories is available:
- cable backhaul devices
- cable drums
- hydraulic winches
Combination machines and special equipment
By means of a quick-release attachment system other components including:
- drill feeds
- cutter heads
- hydraulic hammers
can be mounted rapidly to replace the bucket.
